MalumeBook terms
1. Who you are buying from
MalumeBook is a service of Rogan Kitching, sole proprietor, trading as Rokit Systems. When these terms say “we” or “Rokit”, that is who they mean. “You” is the driver who buys MalumeBook.
Physical address: to be added before launch.
Contact: WhatsApp 079 510 6207.
2. What you get
A phone page, MalumeBook, that you use on your own phone to:
- list the families you drive (parent, child, WhatsApp number, monthly amount);
- open a ready-made fee statement in each parent’s WhatsApp, with the payment details you enter, so you can send it;
- mark who has paid, and carry part payments and arrears into the next month;
- remind the parents who are still unpaid, and see a Who owes list and a month summary.
We also set it up with you on your phone. You send every message yourself from your own WhatsApp. MalumeBook does not send anything on its own.
3. Prices and billing
- Setup: R149, once.
- MalumeBook for up to 30 families: R99 a month.
- MalumeBook for up to 60 families: R149 a month.
- Start payment: R248, which is setup plus your first month on the up-to-30 plan.
All prices are in South African rand. We bill month to month. After your first month, we send you a payment link each month. You can pay by card through the link, or by PayShap or EFT to Rogan Kitching. We send the payment details when you ask.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel any time. There is no contract and no cancellation fee. Tell Rogan on WhatsApp and we stop the billing. We refund any month you have paid for and not used.
If a paid month runs out and is not renewed, sending switches off after a short grace period of about 7 days. Your book stays on your phone. You can still read it and back it up.
5. 7-day cooling-off
If you buy MalumeBook at a distance (for example over WhatsApp or through the website), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you 7 days to cancel after the agreement is made and get your money back.
That 7-day cooling-off ends once your setup has been done, because you asked us to do it and agreed to it. We will ask for your OK before we start. After that you can still stop the monthly plan at any time (see clause 4).
6. Your families’ details stay on your phone
The names, children’s names, WhatsApp numbers and amounts you enter are saved on your phone only. Rokit never receives them. We cannot see them, recover them or restore them if your phone is lost. Back up your book to yourself on WhatsApp, as often as you need to.
What we do keep: your own name and WhatsApp number, what you paid and when, and an anonymous desk code with the date your plan is paid until. That is how we bill you, support you and switch your plan on and off. None of it includes your families’ details.
7. You are responsible for your customers
The families you drive are your customers, and you decide what to do with their information. You are responsible for:
- keeping their details safe and your phone locked;
- having their OK to message them about fees, and stopping if a parent asks you to;
- what each statement and reminder says. They are your messages to your customers, not ours;
- any late fee. A late fee is your decision and your text. MalumeBook does not set your fees or add interest;
- the payment details you type in, and checking they are right before you send a statement.
8. We never handle parents’ money
Parents pay you directly, into your own account or PayShap. Rokit never holds, pools or moves the fees, and is not a party to the money between you and a parent. If a parent disputes a fee, that is between you and the parent.
9. Keeping it running
We work to keep MalumeBook running, but we cannot promise it will never go down. If something breaks, tell Rogan on WhatsApp and we will fix it.
10. Changes and law
If we change these terms, we tell you on WhatsApp before the change reaches you. These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
